Umbro might be best known for the kit that we supply on the pitch, but a pair of recent collaborations have seen us making our mark on fashion off the pitch as well. Vice magazine are a big fan of one of Umbro’s designers, Luis Lopez Smith, who made some pretty outrageous outfits in his graduate collection, and they recently came up to Manchester to capture some of his creations being worn alongside Umbro’s Football Wardrobe range. The photographs, and a quick interview with Luis about his design ideas and inspirations, can be read over on the Vice website here. Photos were taken by Elizabeth Angela Johnson, and you can see more of her work here.

Umbro have also been adding an element of innovation to its designs with a new range of clothes on sale at House Of Fraser. The range – some of which is pictured above – is a selection of fun but fashionable pieces designed to be worn when you’re watching the football – either at the ground, at home, or in the pub. Some of the most interesting features in the retro-inspired range are the return of the Umbro taping down the sleeves of jackets, t-shirts and kagools and images such as the iconic Umbro Girls from the 1960s.

We think they look great, and other people have noticed already – men’s mag ShortList gave us a glowing reference here, while Manchester’s finest fashion magazine Flux used the range (along with Umbro’s Football Wardrobe gear) to dress up-and-coming local band The Heartbreaks in a recent fashion shoot. Below are some of the pics.

    Come off it,

Umbro, I do love you but give me a camera, a pen and 10 minutes and I could pull a better ‘fashion line’ out my a**

Whats the criteria? keep a straight face for the duration of the shoot?
