Rangers 2010/11: Tailored By Umbro
One of the first shirts that we’ve unveiled for the 2010/11 season, we’re very pleased to be able to show you the new Rangers home shirt. Using the same Tailored By Umbro principles as the iconic England shirt, the new strip for the Glasgow giants delves into their history whilst also utilising the best new design innovations.
Bringing together Umbro’s unique heritage as the home of bespoke football tailoring with a modern design, Tailored By Umbro is a series of design principles that has breathed new life into the world of football kit design. Kits created using the ideas of Football Tailoring take elements such as an individual club’s history, the ergonomics and the specific needs of the player during a game and a smart aesthetic to create an iconic, bold look.
Rangers, a club with a long and illustrious history, are the latest club to have their kit crafted using the Football Tailoring principles. The current Scottish champions, who recently celebrated their 53rd championship triumph, have unveiled their home strip for the forthcoming 2010/11 season. In the classic Rangers Blue with a clear white collar, the kit has clear links to the club’s proud heritage, but is crafted from the latest in sports technology. The shirt is designed for comfort on the pitch, and is made from 100% tetra cotton, while the unique ergonomic design allows the kit to move with the player during the game. The attention to detail doesn’t stop at the shirt either, as the new shorts and socks are also tailored to each player’s needs, with movement and comfort the key principles. All together, it’s a kit fit for champions, so it should suit Rangers perfectly. Tailored By Umbro, and soon to be seen in Glasgow and beyond.

Nice and clean looking. I was wondering why you never featured your design for Athletico Bilbao’s centenary kit, the one that is reversible,it is a design classic

The shirt is fantastic, as a Chelsea fan I always look out for the Rangers shirts but this is the first one in a while I actually might buy! Such a shame the sponsor ruins the aesthetics of the shirt, hopefully there will be some great training gear available without the logo. Sterling job lads!

Nice shirt, lets just hope we don’t have to see thousands of people in them wandering around Manchester swigging cans of lager and urinating against shop windows again.
