Manchester City players launch the new away kit in Manhattan

Every football player thinks that they can take on the best, but some lucky New Yorkers had the chance to put this theory to the test last night when they took on some of Manchester City‘s finest players in an impromptu kick-about on their home pitch. To officially launch their smart new away kit, a small City squad including Joe Hart, Emmanuel Adebayor, Micah Richards, Dedryck Boyata, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge and Kolo Touré arrived at Sara D. Roosevelt Park yesterday afternoon to play against some local footballers.

Sporting the new navy blue away kit, City’s squad surprisingly drew 1-1 against the team of New Yorkers, although we have heard reports that by the end of the game the professionals were ‘toying’ with their American opponents! After the first match, City’s players also rewarded their loyal fans from Britain who had travelled over to follow their tour of New York by taking them on in another game.

This kit is so so good! My readers have almost unanimously agreed this is one of the best kits of the 10/11 season.

I like its simplicity yet originality with the lovely collar. I like the color combination and, incredibly, I like the socks!

    Great job, Umbro! ;)
