Have you ever trekked for miles to watch your team in action? Traveled to a festival on the other side of the world to see your favourite band? Got up in the middle of the night and dragged your friends to a bar to catch that vital fixture on TV? Tell us about it!

With the release of the new England Away shirt, we’re celebrating those moments of English culture that pop up all around the world. We want to hear about the times you’ve gone out of the way to watch a game, catch a band or connect with your homeland whilst you’ve been overseas.

England Away Shirt 2011

Either email us on blog@umbro.com or comment on this blog with your stories of courageous travels abroad, and you could be in with the chance of winning a fantastic one off prize bundle. One lucky winner will get the chance to watch an England training session, an England Away shirt signed by the squad and a pair of VIP tickets to an England game. Runners up will receive the new England Away shirt.

Not sure of what kind of story we’re looking for? Over the next few days, we’ll have some stories from some of our favourite football writers around the world, telling us about the times they’ve gone the extra mile to catch the things they love. You’ve got until Thursday August 25th to submit your stories, they can be as long or as short as you like, but it’s the funniest ones that’ll catch our attention! For terms and conditions click here, otherwise get submitting your stories if you want to win!

I went to Germany 2006 for the world cup. My mate had won tickets from McDonalds to see England V Paraguay, he had already promised the other ticket to my mate but i thought id still go along, join in the atmosphere and see if i can blag a ticket out there. Tickets were 400E each so thought id watch it in the fan parks with all the others. As the game was in Frankfurt the big screens were in the middle of the river….. it was an amazing atmosphere! Loads of English and German fans all joined together, drinking and generally having a good time. After a few beers, i decided that i would have turn up the fun! So i went back to my hotel and donned the pre packed Elvis costume on. Cue more drinking, about 2000 photographs with everyone and anyone. Cracking Fun! and a brilliant away day!
