David Haye reveals new 2011 England Away shirt
Tomorrow night will be a massive occasion for David Haye – for more than one reason! Not only is he battling Wladimir Klitschko for the WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight boxing belts, but he’s also going to be walking out to the ring in the new England away shirt.
The shirt, pictured here, will be worn with pride by The Hayemaker as he challenges Klitschko in what is easily the biggest boxing bout of the year.
As he wears the new England away shirt, David will have the whole of the country supporting him, including some of our finest footballers. Kasabian’s Tom Meighan has already passed on some words of encouragement for David Haye ahead of the big fight, before passing on the new shirt for The Hayemaker to wear before the big fight. Tomorrow night, he’ll walk out to the ring in Hamburg in the new England team shirt to represent his country. We wish him all the best! I’m really disappointed with the recent England shirts over the last 3 or 4 years. They have been bland and dull ever since the red stripe disappeared from the home shirt in approx 2007/08. The home kit needs to be white with a red trim, to reflect the Cross of St George. The last two home shirts have been far too similar and bland, so I haven’t bothered buying either of them and nor have any friends or family. Give us something different and creative! Why not try red shorts with the home kit for example? As for the latest away kit, well why have we gone back to blue? I thought those days were behind us. England away should be red, end of story. My final point is the frequency of the changes – come on Umbro, every 2 years maybe, at a push, but now it looks like you’re changing both home and away shirts every single year, which is just not on. I haven’t bought an England shirt since approx 2007 because I haven’t liked any of the plain, boring designs. I have no doubt that the fabric and material used is superb, but fans want to wear these shirts as fashion statements, at the match, at the pub or wherever. Your design team needs shaking up! White and red please!!!!

Not impressed. England away kits are best when they are red. This one reminds me of a Scotland strip.
Won’t be getting my money for this one Umbro/F.A.
