£135,000? It’s The World’s Most Expensive Umbro Boots!

Most footballers allow themselves the odd patriotic flag on their match boots, or the subtle embroidery of the name of one’s sprog. Yet England’s John Terry has gone that one step further, with a bank-busting 2,374 rare jewels, each individually attached to his Umbro Speciali boots, as worn in the 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Belarus on October 14.
His studs are tipped with 84 black diamonds and set in white gold, while his famous number 6 is represented by 27 carat worth of white diamonds, 11 carat of sapphires and yet more gold. Some might say Terry had lost his mind, and that precious metals might affect his passing game, but Umbro can reveal that all this bling is for charity. Terry’s Umbro Specialis will be auctioned for charity at the VIP launch of teammate Rio Ferdinand’s new Live The Dream Foundation in London on Wednesday.
Should you have an errant quarter of million in the bank, pop along to www.rioferdinandltdf.com for information on how to bid.

I would love to know where from those diamonds were sourced. I bet no one knows. Diamonds are the crucial source of conflicts in many African countries and the workers are treated badly.
Also, in a moment when so many English families are trying hard to save for a Christmas dinner, with so many job losses, I would say that this diamond boot is clue-less to say the least.

What a load of crap, standard football boots with removable badges stuck to them, a child could have made these. Not surprised they only sold for £18,000. I guess they buyer will remove the stones, flog them and use the boots for what they are intended for. Really moronic idea!
