Sleeker, Smarter, Deadlier: the STII Boot

Umbro STII boots

The latest addition to Umbro’s celebrated boot collection is a smarter, sleeker, deadlier version of its predecessor – the STII. Designed for the smarter player on the pitch, the STII builds on the success of existing Umbro boots but with some exciting upgrades and improvements. First of all, the boot is available with either leather or synthetic uppers, offering players the choice they prefer.

Secondly, those uppers offer improved control and an increased strike zone, thanks to embossed medial grooves providing greater purchase. Alongside improved comfort thanks to a cushioned insole, the STII also provides greater traction through improved configuration of the studs. All together, these elements add up to a boot that will let you get on with what you do best, beating the opposition, and looking great while you do it.

Umbro Stealth: new colourway for the new season

Umbro Stealth Black & Lime Green Colourway

As we look forward to the new season kicking off in a couple of weeks, we’re excited to unveil a brand new colourway for our Stealth boots. These electrifying black and lime green boots will be worn by top players such as Gael Clichy, Phil Jagileka and Michael Mancienne when they return to action in England‘s top flight next month.

Aside from the great new colours, with Umbro’s Stealth boots you get something designed for the smarter player. One who looks to outfox his opponent, hunt down opportunities and lead their team to victory.

Stealth boots do this thanks to a streamlined last and two lateral studs in the middle of the boot which offer increased speed, while the carbon fibre shank and heel counter provide the power you need. Combined with cushioned insoles offering comfort, these all add up into a boot that offers everything you need to prove your trickery on the pitch.

The Umbro Speciali is a design classic, which offers players such as Michael Owen and John Terry the comfort and movement they need on the pitch. This latest colourway will be worn later this year, with a host of international stars sporting this fantastic white and gold design. We can’t wait to see it in action!

We launched the Stealth boot last month, and it’s already had a brilliant response from fans and players, with Premier League stars such as Gael Clichy, Phil Jagielka and Wilson Palacios sporting the existing colourways on a few occasions and feeling the benefits of a boot that’s built for the player who likes to outfox the opposition. Soon, they’ll be spotted in this beautifully sleek black and silver colourway as well, so keep an eye out for it on the pitch!

Our New Stealth Boots: have you won?

Umbro Stealth

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been running a great competition giving you a chance to win a pair of our new Umbro Stealth boots. The boots are designed for the the smarter, craftier player, and that’s why we asked you a pretty tricky question to be in with a chance of winning. We wanted you to count how many chickens or chicken heads appeared in our Stealth video, and we got plenty of answers – but not many got the right answer…

We’ve watched the video over and over, and all the Umbro ajudicators agreed that the correct answer was:

D) 49 chickens!

Congratulations to everyone who counted their chickens correctly. All the correct answers were then put into a chicken-shaped hat, with five names pulled out at random to win the Stealth boots.

The winners are…

Joseph Redmond from Burnley

Daniel Patterson from Bath

Tommy Sweenie from Kilmarnock

Peter Martin from Somerset

Val Churchill from Betchworth

They’ll be getting a pair of Umbro Stealth boots in the post soon, and will join a list of illustrious players who are the first people in the world to wear the boots. Congratulations to them! Here’s that video once again if you want to count any more chickens…

Stealth Competition: your last chance to enter

Umbro Stealth

Just a quick note to let you know that there’s not long left to enter our competition to win a pair of our new Stealth boots. The competition closes tomorrow at 5pm, so if you want to be in with a chance of winning one of five pairs of the new boots, you need to answer this question:

How many chickens can you see in the video?

Both real chickens and chicken heads need to be counted. To make it a little easier for you, we’re giving you a number of answers that you can choose from. Simply pick which of the following answers you think is right, and email us your choice on blog@umbro.co.uk.

Is the answer…

a) 43

b) 45

c) 47

d) 49

Thanks to everyone who has entered so far, and please remember that the winners will be chosen at random from all the correct entries we received. The only way to enter is by emailing blog@umbro.co.uk – or by heading over to Club Website, where they’ve got their own competition to win a pair of Stealth boots. Good luck, and get counting those chickens!
