Hull Couture

If you think seeing Jimmy Bullard in a Hull City shirt is exciting, you haven’t seen anything yet. The pictures here are taken from a fashion collection by Cumbria-based designer Angy Morton, entitled Stolen Dreams. The collection, which is being shown at the Cavern Club in Liverpool from Monday, uses a collection of football shirts as the basis for high end ladies fashion.

Inspired by the lack of football fashion designed for females, Angy has been spurred on by a host of girls who’ve contacted her over the past twelve months to say that they feel the same way. The designs don’t just take a team’s shirt and turn it into a dress, they use the character of the club in question and the ups and downs of football to help shape the pieces being created. For instance, one of Angy’s first designs was a mock wedding dress created from torn up shirts to commemorate the date on which Kevin Keegan left her beloved Newcastle, whilst a design inspired by Liverpool is entitled The Joker as a celebration of the city’s famous mix of culture and humour.

Pictured here are Angy’s creations featuring Hull City’s latest home shirt, which has already seen plenty of excitement on the pitch as the club have lifted themselves away from the bottom of the league. However, it’s never been seen on a catwalk before – until now.
Angy’s collection, Stolen Dreams, will be on show at the Cavern Club in Liverpool this Monday from 7pm, entry is free.
